Workers deny attacks on nursing home

FORMER workers picketing outside one of the country’s largest nursing homes say they had nothing to do with the nailing shut of a fire door at the 50-bed unit over the weekend.

The directors of the home say they’ve had to employ a security firm to protect their property following a spate of attacks since the dispute began on August 28.

But the 34 SIPTU members say their protest is peaceful and denied any attacks on Springvalley Nursing Home in Enniscorthy, Co Wexford.
