MOBILE phone companies should apologise for overcharging customers and provide publicly available detailed reports of blunders, the Director of Consumer Affairs said yesterday.

Carmel Foley also insisted mobile users should not have to pay for the serious errors by Vodafone Ireland and rival O2.

"I would also expect the companies to apologise and to give specific details of the overcharging," she said.
