Worker support for hospital cleaners

A TRADE union movement wants all workers in Waterford city to lend their support to almost 140 contract cleaners who were laid off on Monday in a festering pay dispute with their employer.

Waterford Council of Trade Union’s President, Dick Roche, urged the South Eastern Health Board to intervene. The Board, meanwhile, says the issue is one which is between the cleaning staff at Waterford Regional Hospital, their employer, Noonan Services Ltd and their trade union, the ATGWU.
