Positive take on ageing

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern will perform the official launch of Positive Ageing Week, which aims to show ageing can - and should be - a positive experience.

One in eight Irish are 65 years or over and by 2011 the ageing population will have reached 14%, equal to 560,000 people.

Throughout the week, it will be shown that older people have a vital role to play in modern Ireland.
