Costello makes way in Labour reshuffle

LABOUR leader Pat Rabbitte announced a significant shake-up of his front bench last night, with Joe Costello a major casualty, being demoted from the position of justice spokesman.

The small number of changes is being seen as an attempt by Mr Rabbitte to strengthen his team ahead of the next election.

Mr Rabbitte has given two of the party’s biggest names, Ruairí Quinn and Brendan Howlin, more important portfolios.
