NO explosives were found on board a plane after a major passenger airport was closed yesterday due to a security alert on a Ryanair flight bound for Dublin.

A thorough search of the aircraft produced nothing of a sinister nature, authorities said last night.

The flight from Paris to Dublin was diverted to Prestwick near Glasgow after a note was passed to cabin crew claiming there was a bomb on board.
