Gardaí examine taxi in probe into death of Georgian
The victim was named yesterday, as George Tkeshelashvili, from the Republic of Georgia.
He lived at Atlas House, in the centre of Tralee. He received a fatal stab wound to the chest during a row at Westward Court, Mary Street, Tralee, at around 2.30pm, on Saturday.
Gardaí are continuing to interview non-national residents of both Atlas House and Westward Court.
Supt Pat Sullivan, Tralee, appealed to people who were in the Mary Street area between 2pm and 3pm, on Saturday, to contact gardaí. The deceased, who is the father of a family, had been living in Kerry for the past two months.
Meanwhile, a teenager suffered a fractured skull after being viciously assaulted by thieves robbing his bicycle.
The 17-year-old youth was one of three people attacked in a south Dublin suburb last weekend.
David Moran, was set upon by two attackers near his home on Captain’s Road in Crumlin on Saturday. Detectives arrested a youth and questioned him yesterday at Crumlin Garda Station.
Later that day, a man walking home after training in a nearby gym was attacked by a number of men, at least one wielding an iron bar. The man suffered a split in his head, but was not seriously injured.
In a third incident early on Sunday morning, a 26-year-old Crumlin man received serious head injuries in a suspected drink-related row.
Meanwhile, Donnybrook gardaí have appealed for witnesses to an incident in a south Dublin park in which a woman, aged 33, received serious head injuries. She was found lying face down near Herbert Park in Ballsbridge on Sunday.
