THE opposition has rubbished suggestions that no Government minister should be held responsible for the €150 million PPARS debacle.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern and Tánaiste Mary Harney said this week they would wait until the Comptroller and Auditor General and the Health Service Executive (HSE) had furnished reports on PPARS before considering the question of responsibility.

The comptroller’s report is due in the coming weeks, while the HSE is due to meet on December 2 to review the matter.
