THE promoters of the Madonna concert have come under fire for their refusal to grant ticket price concessions to helpers of wheelchair users.

Former Taoiseach John Bruton yesterday published correspondence between him and concert promoter, Denis Desmond of MCD. It came after fruitless representations by Mr Bruton seeking a reduction in the ticket price for helpers of people in wheelchairs.

“I am highlighting this matter publicly in order to raise public awareness of the problems being faced by people with severe physical disabilities who have to have a helper with them at expensive public events like Madonna’s concert,” Mr Bruton said.
