Street sealed off due to gas leak

EXPERTS are still trying to find the source of a potentially explosive gas which led authorities to seal off half of the main street in Midleton, Co Cork.

All electric appliances in the area were turned off and tanks in a petrol station emptied as a precaution.

Gardaí closed off part of the main street at 10pm last Sunday after gas was smelled coming from around the Allied Irish Bank branch.
