Stars line up to shoot brothers’ grim tale

A LITTLE bit of Hollywood is visiting Grafton Street as the final touches are being put to the Jason and Jonathan Figgis’ thriller, Three Crosses.

Stars line up to shoot brothers’ grim tale

After almost two years of filming, the latest project is almost in sight for Ireland’s answer to the film-making Coen brothers.

The movie, which features cameo roles from former Boyzone star Keith Duffy and glamour model Caprice, is, according to Jonathan Figgis, “almost 90% complete.”

The brothers have completed a number of film projects in recent years, including a one-off documentary for Sky One, Uri’s Haunted Cities: Venice, featuring the celebrity illusionist Uri Geller, but work began on Three Crosses almost two years ago.

“We have only 10% of the filming left to do before we go into post-production,” said Jonathan Figgis yesterday, “and we are hoping to have that wrapped up in September.”

It is a tale of two Irish-Polish brothers whose youngest brother is murdered which in turn leads to family crisis, pursuit of the killer and, according to Jonathan Figgis, “all hell then breaks loose - in one of the remaining scenes to be shot, 18 people are killed.”Taking a cameo role is Gail Porter, another favourite of the ‘lads’ mags’.

When asked how they managed to secure the services of Caprice for the film, he said that brother Jason had simply bumped into her in London and asked her if she would like to appear in the film. Three Crosses also stars Karl Hayden, Emmet Scanlan and Tony Flynn and Spanish actress Marianne Araujo.
