Gardaí fear shooting and bomb find linked to feud

LIMERICK gardaí fear the discovery of a pipe bomb and a shooting incident are linked to heightened tensions in the city feud over recent days.

Extra armed patrols were placed around the city last night as the first anniversary approaches of the jailing of five men for life for the murder of crime boss Kieran Keane.

Gardaí believe that a shooting incident and the discovery of a pipe bomb on Monday evening are connected to members of the main feuding gangs.
