Postal strike looms as workers protest at relocation

A NATIONWIDE post office strike is looming after An Post workers in Cork launched an unofficial protest yesterday.

More than 200 clerical workers demonstrated in Cork City and country over An Post’s decision to sub-contract work at several offices.

Thousands of elderly pensioners were prevented from collecting their weekly payment when offices in Cork city, Cobh, Macroom and Youghal closed.
