The JP McManus Golf Pro-Am has donated €700,000 towards the project and a further €500,000 has been allocated by Enable Ireland headquarters.

As part of the local fundraising effort to make up the shortfall, various events are being organised.

The first of these, a fashion show takes place at Limerick’s Milano’s Restaurant on Harvey’s Quay on April 4.

John Sanders, fundraising coordinator said: “The expanded facility at Quinn’s Cross, Mungret will enable us to expand our physiotherapy, occupational therapy and treatment departments and enable more adults to have independent living with all the necessary skills.”

The Enable Ireland facility at Mungret provides support services for 25 adults and numbers seeking places are rising.

Other events organised to help raise funds include a gala ball at the Limerick Radisson Hotel on May 26 and a cluster of golf classics around the Mid-West.

Tickets for the fashion show can be obtained from 061-462030 and 061-423494.
