Principal angry at school’s omission

SHAY O’NEILL is furious that his school, Scoil Treasa Naofa in inner city Dublin, was not included on the updated school building programme this week.

Principal angry at school’s omission

Pupils at the 75-year-old school have to walk through the yard to go to the toilet, which has no running water, heating or security for anyone using the facility. The school has been waiting more than a year to seek tenders for a major extension which would provide modern toilets, as well as new classrooms, office space and a staff room.

“I was led to believe last year we had some kind of system we could rely on, but the minister has thrown this out the window. This extra list is nothing but a political ploy and I believe it’s morally wrong,” said Mr O’Neill.
