Families of murder victims will receive bereavement pack
According to Victim Support, the murder rate in Ireland has increased by more than 160% in the last decade and many families do not know where to turn to for support and do not understand the basics of the criminal justice system.
“Sixty people were murdered in Ireland in 2002 compared to 23 murders in 1992, an increase of 160%. This Bereavement Pack is in response to the increased need for information from families and friends of murder victims,” Victim Support co-ordinator of FMV Service Moe Reynolds said.
