Granny must prove she’s not a drug pusher

A GRANNY accused of supplying methadone from her home was yesterday told she had to prove she was keeping the drugs for someone lawfully entitled to them.

Teresa Burnett, 74, claims she was holding 140 physeptone tablets for her son, who had posted them to her Dublin home on 11 May 2001.

The mother-of-nine, from Bremen Road, Ringsend, is charged with possession and possession with intent to supply methadone under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977.
