HUNDREDS of nurses are to take to the streets in a month-long protest campaign to highlight overcrowding in hospitals’ accident and emergency wards.

The protests will start outside Beaumont Hospital, Dublin, and Wexford General Hospital on April 7.

The decision to take industrial action was taken at yesterday’s meeting of the Irish Nurses’ Organisation’s (INO) national executive when there were 345 patients on trolleys.
