Ahern to make Dáil statement on Burke

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern said yesterday he will answer all relevant questions in relation to the Flood Tribunal and the appointment of Ray Burke in a statement to the Dáil later today.

Mr Ahern said he did not want to prejudice any court cases arising from the Flood Tribunal report through anything he might say on the matter.

Responding to opposition criticism of his failure to engage in a full question-and-answer session, Mr Ahern said there was no precedent for handling a tribunal report in such a manner.
