Nun to rescue as woman attacked

The woman’s 82-year-old mother had gone to Mass and she had called to the house in Cork city to light a fire. Once inside the house at Dunbar Street she heard a noise upstairs and went to investigate. She was confronted by man who demanded money. The woman tried to run out of the house but he grabbed her by the throat,” a senior garda spokesman said.

When a nun heard the screams she came across to the house. On seeing her, the burglar fled down Margaret Street.
