TRANSPORT Minister Séamus Brennan’s crusade to change driver behaviour continues tomorrow with a directive forcing all drivers to carry their licences.

A maximum fine of 800 can be imposed for breaches of the requirement. However, later in the year failure to carry driving licences will incur penalty points.

The penalty points system was introduced last October. Minister Brennan’s decision to bring in penalty points for speeding offences was part of a road safety drive.
