Unpaid staff’s anger at lavish wedding

OUTRAGED nursing home staff staging a 30-day sit-in over non-payment of wages learned yesterday their boss — who had claimed he had no money to pay them — has wed in a lavish ceremony.

Dromoland Castle in Co Clare was the luxury five-star setting when company director Ted Cunningham wed Cathy Armstrong, former director of services at Tullybeg Retirement Village, Rahan, Co Offaly.

The staff are owed €133,048.36 in redundancy, wages and holiday payments.
