House prices up 16% nationally for first nine months of year

HOUSE prices have jumped 16% nationally in the first nine months of this year, according to figures released yesterday by estate agents Sherry FitzGerald.

But Sherry FitzGerald chief economist Marian Finnegan stressed it was important to note that such

increases come on the back of price reductions, which were a feature of the market in 2001.
