Farrell’s Alexander: the Thanksgiving turkey

IN the US, every Thanksgiving must have a turkey. But at the time of year when more Americans go to the cinema than at any other, this year’s award goes to Colin Farrell in Alexander.

Farrell’s Alexander: the Thanksgiving turkey

Directed by Oliver Stone and costing a whopping $150 million, Alexander is a big, epic bio-pic of Alexander the Great, the Macedonian king who expanded his empire from the Mediterranean to India by the time he died, at 32, in 323 BC.

Depicting a bisexual monarch, the film has already stirred up controversy and raised the wrath of the Greek nation, who want a disclaimer saying their hero was not historically gay.
