Cabinet rules out return of college fees

The Government-commissioned OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) review of third-level education, due to be published next week, will recommend bringing back third-level fees and other options of funding.

But last night a Government spokesperson said Education Minister Noel Dempsey will not be re-examining the fees option and the Cabinet would not be a revisiting the issue.
