KERRY county manager Martin Riordan has strongly rejected claims of a planning crisis in the county.

However, there’s growing concern among some councillors about delays in processing applications and a difficulty in understanding why some applications are turned down.

Fianna Fáil Councillor Michael Cahill said politicians were coming under growing pressure because of what he claimed was a high level of refusals for one-off houses, especially in mid-Kerry.
