Cllrs Johnny O’Connor and Michael Cahill met a director of Jet AHU, Killorglin, to raise issues of serious concern.
Up to 30 people are employed in the plant, which manufactures air handling equipment.
The councillors said the director informed them that everything possible had been tried to secure funding for the company prior to closure.
