Two years to finish 50-foot jigsaw

GERARD HITCHEN has completed a task which would have tested the patience of Job.

Over two years he spent hundreds of hours putting together a 12,096-piece jigsaw covering 50 square feet at his home in Doon Road, Ballybunion.

“Although I live alone I was always afraid a piece might get disturbed or lost by a caller,” said Gerard, a native of Belfast.
