FOURTH round sessions of the TCH All-Ireland School Quiz at CBS, Roscommon resulted in wins for the host school and St Joseph’s College, Galway.

In the first quiz, CBS and St Mary’s Secondary School, Edenderry, Co Offaly, were neck and neck until the final round when the home side held stronger finish.

In the second session St Joseph’s College, Galway, were always in front against Summerhill College, Sligo, and scored an impressive 28 points win. A feature in Galway’s win was the 100% record of Peter Flynn.

Intermediate School, Killorglin, emerged victorious in a tightly fought contest with Kinsale Community School.

Both teams were level going into round nine and a strong finish by Killorglin saw them win by 98 to 86.

The Killorglin team: Sean Foley, Liam Clifford, Garoid Clifford and Simon Brosnan.

In another quiz held in UCC, Ard Scoile Phobal, Bantry, met Abbey CBS, Tipperary.

In This Cork-Tipperary clash the lead changed hands many times, again with both teams equal going into Round Nine but Bantry had the stronger finish with 90 points to 82.

The Bantry team: Patrick Delaney, Brian Casey, Michael Burke and Keith O’Sullivan.

The Third Quiz in Boole One, UCC, was between Coachford College and Coláiste An Spriod Naomh, Bishopstown.

A tight race saw Coachford emerge victorious over Spriod Naomh winning by 106 to 80.

Coachford College: Shane Forde, Antoinette O’Connor, Jonathan O’Connell and Laura O’Mahony.
