AN POST is again firmly in the firing line in Midleton because of what is described as a second-rate service.

Criticism has been spearheaded by the mayor, Noel Collins, who said the problems affecting the delivery of parcels had become “intolerable”.

Councillor Collins said that when he arrived at his home one day recently he found a postman writing out a note to the effect that the householder wasn’t at home and that he should call to the company’s delivery office at Little Island to collect his parcel.
