THE Fine Gael frontbench rallied around leader Enda Kenny last night, insisting they still want him to lead the party despite his continued drop in public opinion support.

The latest opinion polls shows that support for Mr Kenny has dropped another three points to 26% and that Labour has overtaken Fine Gael in popularity. And Labour now has 22% of support compared to Fine Gael’s 20%, and Labour leader Pat Rabbitte is the most popular party leader with a 49% approval rating.

Last night’s Fine Gael frontbench meeting focused on what the party can do to improve its ratings and make a bigger impact on voters.
