Gardaí seize €120m of drugs in last four years

THE Garda National Drugs Unit seized almost €120 million worth of illegal drugs in the last four years, new figures show.

It was also involved in joint operations with customs worth a further €30m, according to official statistics.

But the specialist garda unit is under-resourced and needs more gardaí, according to Fine Gael justice spokesman Jim O’Keeffe.
