Councillor seeks to put skids on bus hire

A CITY councillor vowed last night to boycott a bus that has been hired to carry city fathers a few hundred metres to officially launch European Car-Free Day next week.

Labour Cllr John Kelleher said last night that he was “absolutely shocked,”

to learn a bus has been hired to drive all 31 members of Cork City Council, and top city officials, from city hall to Patrick Street, a distance of about 600 metres, next Wednesday.
