Finglas centre review

JUNIOR minister Brian Lenihan is to seek the views of all stakeholders regarding the operation of Finglas Child and Adolescent Centre in Dublin.

Finglas centre review

A review commissioned by Mr Lenihan found the capacity to adequately care for troubled young people “has been lost”.

The review recommends a downsizing of the facility and the appointment of a new director and external monitor to re-establish a safe, caring environment for young people and staff.

The minister gave staff, management, trade unions and the Special Residential Services Board three weeks to comment on the recommendations in the review.
