Ireland to host newspaper congress

BONO and Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will address the World Newspaper Congress, which will held here for the first time in June.

The 56th annual congress, organised by the World Association of Newspapers (WAN), will bring more than 1,000 media experts to Dublin.

Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism, John O’Donoghue said the congress was good news for the country and “a strong and very welcome endorsement of Ireland’s reputation as a leader in areas like media, technology, communications and infrastructure.”
