Sex offender deported from Ireland back in jail

A NOTORIOUS sex offender who was deported from Ireland earlier this year after serving a jail sentence is back in prison.

Scottish criminal John Cronin was convicted by a court in Manchester last Friday on several counts of fraud for obtaining money by deception from a number of businesses in Oldham.

Gardaí had feared that Cronin from East Lothian might have attempted to return to Ireland due to his notoriety in Scotland.
