Photos show children’s ‘horrific’ dental problems

A CONSULTANT orthodontist has published photos of children with horrific dental problems to show how the State had failed to look after them.

Ted McNamara, principal consultant orthodontist in the Mid-Western Health Board, said some children, whose treatment was not followed through, ended up having unnecessary traumatic treatment because of opposition to the development of regional public services.

Mr McNamara showed the damage done to children's teeth when he addressed a meeting of the Mid-Western Health Board yesterday.
