Arts council funds cinema in Cork and Limerick

TWO cinema art houses bucked the cutback trend yesterday when they received €1.5 million in funding.

The Cultural Consortium (Arts Council and Irish Film Board) revealed that Limerick Filmhouse Centre, and Kino Cinema, Cork, have each received €750,000 for art house cinema development.

Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donoghue said cinema was capable of reaching audiences in all parts of the country.
