Ireland eighth in international education league table

OUR education system is the eighth best among 24 developed countries, according to an international survey.

The UNICEF report analysed the latest international studies of educational performance in an effort to present a picture of educational disadvantage.

It examined reading, maths and science skills to find an average percentage of children scoring below fixed international benchmarks, coming up with a league table of the most developed educational systems.
