IRISH women are far more likely to be better educated than their male counterparts, according to a new international survey.

z The participation rate of 18-year-old Irish females in education is among one of the highest in the world. In contrast, the percentage of Irish men of a similar age still in education is one of the lowest within the EU.

A study based on joint UNESCO, OECD and EU data shows over 93% of 18-year-old females in Ireland are in education, while only 66% of males are still in school or college.
