Tax evaders in Dublin least likely to be caught

An Irish Examiner analysis of the 2,413 tax defaulters named and shamed by the Revenue Commissioners in the three year period from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2004, shows that recalcitrant taxpayers in Kerry, Tipperary, Monaghan, Kilkenny, Waterford, Sligo, Roscommon and Limerick are almost four times more likely to be uncovered by the Revenue than tax dodgers in Dublin.

The figures also reveal farmers, bosses, shopkeepers, publicans and builders top the list of tax dodgers.
