Councillors to receive €1,500 for equipment and PCs

COUNTY councillors in Limerick have been given a €1,500 allowance to buy office equipment and computers for their homes.

The one-off payment was agreed at a recent meeting and will be drawn down at the end of the year.

Each of the 28 elected members of the council already has a travel allowance of €9,300 to attend conferences during 2005. This is on top of an annual salary of €14,000.
