New age for newspaper publisher

NEWSPAPERS owned by Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH) rolled off a new press yesterday, the first time in 165 years that the owners of the Irish Examiner have out-sourced its printing.

New age for newspaper publisher

Under the supervision of printing team leader Barry Noonan, Enterprise Minister Micheál Martin pressed the start button on a €50 million press at Mahon Point, Cork, to begin the run of this week’s edition of the Newry Democrat, the first newspaper in TCH’s portfolio to be printed at the Webprint Concepts facility.

TCH, which owns 14 newspapers including the Irish Examiner, Evening Echo and The Sunday Business Post, has out-sourced the printing of all its publications, except for the British-based Irish Post, to Webprint Concepts.
