Reports on collusion claims released

TWO reports into highly sensitive allegations that rogue elements within the gardaí conspired with the IRA to kill a judge, his wife and two senior RUC officers will be handed to the Taoiseach later today.

The two reports are among six completed by Judge Peter Cory into allegations of collusion between different paramilitaries and security forces on both sides of the border.

Taoiseach Bertie Ahern will receive two of the reports while British government officials are to be handed a further four. The reports follow a 16-month investigation by Judge Cory and a team of investigators.
