PARENTS of primary school pupils have warned of the long-term repercussions for children and society as a result of poor investment in primary education.

A petition signed by more than 36,000 parents was handed into Education Minister Noel Dempsey’s office yesterday. They were demanding:

* that classes should not have more than 19 pupils
