On the trail of a family fortune

A CORK family’s efforts to prove their right to a multi-million dollar inheritance will be featured in a TV series next week.

Film-makers will detail businessman Dermot O’Regan’s efforts, which included the exhumation of a body from a plot in a Cork cemetery last May.

Mr O’Regan, 63, who owns O’Regan Precast in Ovens, Co Cork, has spent a small fortune since 1987 trying to prove his link to Mary Ellen O’Regan Sheehan, the last in a line of a wealthy American family who died in her home in Savannah, Georgia, more than 20 years ago.
