DESPITE decades of equality, women’s lifestyles still suffer significantly compare to men’s, according to the latest figures released by the Central Statistics Office.

Less than one per cent of homemakers are men; women account for the vast majority of lone parents, and the percentage of female politicians is tiny compared to most other EU nations.

Even getting to work shows up gender differences, with almost twice as many women as men walking to their place of employment.
