ELECTRONIC voting won't allow the spoiling of votes, Environment Minister Martin Cullen said last night contrary to Government commitments last week.

Amid continued discontent and accusations of further U-turns from the opposition, Mr Cullen also launched a stinging attack on those criticising the e-voting system, questioning their credentials and describing some of the objections as mischievous.

After the Cabinet backed his plans to roll-out e-voting in time for the local and European elections, Mr Cullen put up an impressive defence of his handling of the issue thus far, as he said he believed the Government had taken the right decision.
