Students excel in exciting quiz clash
The two qualifying sessions were the last of the first-round sessions in the Cork region, where 12 local schools have now progressed to the next round.
Countrywide, a total of 54 schools have advanced.
However, the remaining 108 participating schools are not yet out of the competition.
A supplementary draw, in which sessions will be held after Christmas, will ensure that a further 36 teams will have a second bite at the cherry to qualify for the second round.
The second round will deliver 32 qualifying teams.
