City development ‘still on track’

The Department of Transport also insisted the planned expansion of the city’s commuter rail service was still “very much alive” and its senior officials were discussing the project with Iarnrod Éireann.

Both CIÉ and the Department of Transport were responding to media claims yesterday that the multi-million Horgan’s Quay development had been derailed and the planned commuter services had been “put on ice.”

The media report claimed the CIÉ Horgan’s Quay development has been delayed because planning had yet to be undertaken and the potential private sector partners were remaining tight-lipped on any potential plans for the development.
